Counterspells
Using speculative fiction, video, small sculptures, and spatial compositions, the work playfully explores counterspell as a social practice, a form of resistance, and a tool for surviving a precarious life.
The project combines an experimental short film, writings, textile art, soundscapes, ceramic sculptures, and materials collected from streets, dumpsters, yards, and beaches.
In 2023, two different mutations of this project were exhibited in Helsinki and Tampere:
My solo exhibition Ray, Phantom, Amulet / Säde, haamu ja Amuletti at Pajagalleria,
and a group exhibition Larva at Haihara Mansion.
